If you’ve decided to order a piece of Cremation Art, you can be sure that your loved one’s ashes are handled in a safe and respectful manner. To give you an idea of the process, here are the important steps below:
  1. You place an order for a memorial(s)
  2. We will send you our You Are Forever kit (Free of charge), which includes an ashes collection kit, a Priority Express Envelope (Unpaid), along with instructions of how to fill & send the ashes.
  3. You fill and send* your loved one’s ashes to the artist(s) creating your memorial.
  4. Expect the artist to send back your memorial within 6-8 weeks after them receiving the ashes.
*It is important to note that you will need to pay for sending your loved one’s ashes kit back to the artist. According to postal regulations, it is only permitted to send cremains via USPS Priority Express (Which usually costs around $27). While we highly recommend sending via this method, we will accept cremains that arrive by other means.

What's Cremation Glass Art?

Wondering how ashes can be infused and visible in a glass memorial? The process of blown glass art involves heating glass at very high temperatures. The ashes or cremains of an individual is made up of bone and small parts of salts & minerals. These fragments have their own unique composition and look, depending on the person. Therefore they are able to withstand the intense heat of the glassblower and create a special pattern within the memorial.

How much ashes do you need to make cremation art?

This will depend on the type and amount of memorials you wish to make.

The range is usually between a 1/4 of a teaspoon through to 2 tablespoons of cremated remains.

Each product description should say how much ashes is needed (As it can vary between artists) otherwise the amount is written on your work order form.

If you're ever in doubt, feel free to contact our customer service team.

Will I see my loved one's ashes in the memorial?

Most of the time (Depending on the type of memorial) your loved one's ashes will create a unique pattern and color. So yes, with most cremation art, you will be able to see their ashes.

I don't feel comfortable handling my loved one's remains

Although you only need to send a small part, it can be traumatic for some people to handle their loved one's cremated remains.

If you're feeling uncomfortable about this, we suggest asking a friend or relative to help you. If the ashes are still with the Funeral Director, they may also be able to assist.

Is it safe to use cremated remains in art?

Yes, cremated remains are sterile and safe to use in art. Artists trained in creating cremation art have specialized techniques to handle and incorporate the ashes into their creations respectfully and securely.
