Coconino Handmade Walnut Wooden Urn

This striking urn is turned from solid black walnut, and no two are the same. The grain, the figure and the colour all come from the particular tree it was cut from, so the piece you receive is genuinely one of a kind.

The wood comes from trees that have fallen naturally. Nothing is felled to make these. It suits someone who was down to earth and happiest outdoors.

The artist turns and carves every piece by hand on a lathe before finishing it. Each urn is made to order, so please allow four to six weeks.

Choosing a size

There are four sizes. Families often order the keepsake alongside a full-size urn, so that brothers, sisters and children can each keep a matching piece in the same walnut.

• Keepsake (50 CU): 3 to 5 inches tall, 3 to 4 inches wide. For a small portion of ashes, or for sharing between family members.
• Small (100 CU): 7 to 9 inches tall, 5 to 6 inches wide.
• Standard (200 CU): 9 to 10 inches tall, 7 to 8 inches wide. The usual choice for one adult.
• Extra Large (400 CU): 11 to 12 inches tall, 9 to 10 inches wide. A companion urn, sized for two.

As a rough guide, allow one cubic inch of capacity for every pound of body weight.

Sealing the lid

Run a line of silicone adhesive around the inside of the rim, then close the lid and press it down firmly.

If you have a deadline

The artist can sometimes finish a piece in under two weeks. There is a rush fee of $75, charged once per order however many urns you are ordering, and it depends on what he already has on the lathe. Call us on 850-846-8662 before you order and we will find out for you.
